mateo: So if you are in Jackson square - you can walk across the blvd and walk along the mississippi. You can carry any alcohol that isn't in a glass container. There is a tiny pier that ends in a platform right next to the Creole Queen Riverboat. As recently as lat year the gate was not locked - you can go sit above the river and watch the traffic.

mateo: Another great place to sit and watch boats. There are bunches of parks for baseball and soccer nearby. Crawfish season as well - generally people are passing out seafood as they picnic.
