Underground museum, very interactive and mostly for children but presents nicely the principles behind monetary policy etc it is managed by the Bank of Canada and always free, so a great activity
Great grocery store for centretown residents. Not sure how it compares to the Independent on Bank St. But the beer selection is great! Prices are a bit high comparatively on some items w/ other stores
2 storey department store in the Rideau Centre with everything from clothes to accessories, shoes, houseware, and even a very small cafe. Not much on beauty products but great quality items otherwise
Well stocked grocery store, but the hot bar options were delicious! Strongly recommend it for a decent meal, not at obscene prices, with many tasty choices to pick from!
Great Japanese-style Dollarama store w/ lots of options for household items/gifts, beauty bits, as well as toys, travel containers, earplugs, accessories etc. Useful to have as they sell decent stuff
Truly a classic and must visit. Put up with the lines to get inside the classically designed/decorated interiors. Not much space but the smoked meat tastes truly fresh & spicy (not hot but flavorful)
Good fruit and veggies store/market, a wide variety with lots of local/regional produced decently prices. All in all a good addition to the neighborhood
A pretty big bookstore, with lots of seasonal accessories, a huge french book section, also a big corner full of entertainment gifts & books & a neat papery offer. Not many English books unfortunately
It's a super centre, with food, fruit, veggies & groceries to buy too. They have an animalerie section but not fully a pet store, just where to buy pet food & accessories which was a bit disappointing
Great big screens, a nice alternative to Cineplex, and this one also had bumper cars for extra entertainment which was nice. All in all a great option to have
Best butter croissants in Ottawa and outside Quebec. This is a Québécois chain of pâtisseries and this is its first venture outside Quebec and on a campus. Great pastries and sweets
Best soft serve ice cream in town, vanilla and chocolate only but oh so tasty. A normal size is approx $5, incl tax, but oh so worth it
Went for lunch. The interior is rustic, in stark contrast with the modern touch of the renovated hotel. The menu was small (one soup, one salad, one burger, one pasta choice etc) but all was delicious
Super hyped up blow dry bar full of politicos and influencers BUT they don't use a flat iron for finishing touches which meant that for someone with curly hair, the blow dry lasted far less than usual
Weird neighborhood, not much to do outside of the hotel but very clean and fancy rooms, recently renovated, decent buffet breakfasts and dinners
