Huge airport, don't forget to get your tax refund. The gates are pretty spread out, security is pretty quick and good lounges and food options. They have free wifi. Very friendly staff.

Any one have tax must go to customs 🛃 (opposite counter 45) before check in (boarding) after boarding go to vat refund located in first floor.

Lots of food choices, even a Woolworths. You can get a sim card at vodacom. But beware of beggars in the airport.

Network 'AlwaysOn' gives 30 min free wifi if you enter name/email on Complimentary Access tab at far right. And who says it has to be your real name/email? Whatever works!

Random fact for the day.. O.R Tambo International Airport is the 2nd busiest airport on the continent of Africa. The airport handled over 21 million passengers in 2017.

Jacksons restaurant has the best views to watch planes take off and land. Also, the chicken burger and cocktails are really delicious :-):-)

check in machines very cool and easy to use. Domestic flights between JHB and Cape Town carry politicians who behave in like spoilt red necks. SAA affords them special favor, ETA will be late

Anexo ao aeroporto está o Hotel Intercontinental e o seu Quills Restaurant. Sente-se no deck externo, que tem vista p/ um lindo jardim, e peça a Seasonal Soup Of The Day enquanto aguarda seu embarque.

Watch out for people pretending to offer help. Make sure they wear badges identifying themselves as employees. Unfortunately many crooks hanging around waiting to do you in.

The best place outside of the terminal/sky lounge is the back corner of KFC with leather couches good for hours of passing out on long layovers. Power outlets everywhere, too.

Havaalanı biraz eski ve Sistemleri kötü. Ancak çok personel çalışıyor ve sıralar hızlı ilerliyor. Free Shop kısmı güzel. Çok mağaza var ve fiyatlar Türkiye’ye göre makul.

Flight reader board often won't show flights far enough out to know where to check in. Ask one of the SAA staff at the entrance to each check in area and they'll tell you where to go.

What’s not good in my opinion in international departures, is that there are no really good coffee shops or variety of restaurants to chose from. For example why do Mug & Bean not have shops here.

Outside Terminal A is outside long term parking. Its R65 per day. Much cheaper than the undercover and convenient if you're late and can't make it to Super South.

Amazing airport. Everyone in immigrations are so nice and welcoming, the airport is big and customs barely check your bags :). There is wifi in there so that's a rial A plus.

Absolutely crazy queues for transfer flights. Would faster to exit the transfer area and go back again through customs. There’s anyway screening for transfer flights too.

For international departures from Terminal A, after clearing immigration, we got African gin from Big Five Duty Free, souvenirs from Out of Africa, & books/cards from Exclusive Books

Gautrain actually only goes up to 8pm. Also note that you can now use Airport@Vast WiFi. One gig valid for the day.

I dun like this story that cannot buy beer before 10am! Hallo! Whoever arrives there has jetlag and a beer would fit very well! The smoking area (bar) at the first floor drives me crazy! No windows!

Very big airport with always a big crowd. Passenger friendly, but still give extra time for check in and security. Duty free is not that big.

If your connecting from an international fight and your next flight is also an international destination you are going to leave from terminal A and you can just use the transit within the terminal.

Stores close @10pm, slow wifi and few items on duty free shops in case you need to buy clothes and items for staying one night at the city. At least it's clean and well organized

Love that airport! There is a lounge (for plebs like me) at the very top with electric plugs. Buy a coffee and a snack downstairs and be comfortable during your layover
