MacKenzie McCarver: Perfect for a picnic and a stroll, the outdoor gardens are scenic and informational. The indoor butterfly garden is a paradise. Great for families and kids, or for an inexpensive date night.

MacKenzie McCarver: A free museum, perfect for a family outing. Great exhibits in an intimate setting. The jade display is stunning, and the samurai warrior armor and weapons are incredibly well maintained.

MacKenzie McCarver: Classic, casual Tex Mex. Everything is covered in cheese sauce and i wouldn't change a thing. Get the nachos, enchiladas or "tupy tacos", a deep fried beef taco.

MacKenzie McCarver: You could easily fill up on $10 at this low-key Tex Mex spot. The salsa is very spicy, and all of the entrees come with a homey bean soup. This is comfort food at its very best.

MacKenzie McCarver: Walk up, cash only taqueria. The line is always long, so grab a Coke while you wait. Some of the best tacos in Dallas. After you get your taco, walk over to Bishop Arts for shopping!

MacKenzie McCarver: Casual oyster bar with excellent fried fish options. Perfect for a hot day with a cold beer. They also have an oyster happy hour weekdays from 3:30-6:30. In the spring, try the crawfish!

MacKenzie McCarver: Huge Gulf oysters flown in daily are salty and creamy at this low-key local spot. Great for kids. Huge portions of fried fish. The mixto ceviche is limey & briney, and the shrimp boil is amazing!

MacKenzie McCarver: Local pub with a feral cat colony. The kitties are friendly on the patio, and the drinks are cheap and cold. The wings are great beer-drinking food!
