really nice and cosy little hotel in the heart of the Gion with Maruyama park and temples nearby. they give you an appleTV and an own WiFi router for your room :)
although the main building is still in a box for quite a while, it is still very impressive and a mustsee! you can learn how carefully and precisely the japanese renew their cultural heritage.
although not centuries old, like many other gardens around, this one is a beautiful collection of various types of gardens and should not be missed if you are in Himeji!

The most abandoned and remote of the gates of Angkor Thom, not in such a good shape as others though. Chances are pretty good you'll find yourself alone here, just follow the path east of Bayon!
My favourite temple of all, in the middle of the jungle, no paved roads leading to it, nearly unknown to the masses, calm and peaceful. Enjoy!

Location could not be better, right in the heart of the city, lovely apartments. Wi-fi is crap, though, only one device at a time can be used and it's slow, too.
If it is not too hot, definitely rent a bike at the parking at the culture center! It's the best way and lot of fun to get around Uluru!
Room and facility are a bit worn down, no light outside at some places.. Time to renew this and that here. On the other hand who cares, go out exploring Uluru and Kata Tjuta and don't stay at home! :)

Quite new and very nice hotel, right next to the El Born district. It has a great rooftop with a small pool. Their breakfast is fantastic, don't miss the spanish ham and take a glass of champagne!

This is the most fabulous church I have ever been to, the lights are simply amazing! Definitely go up to one of the towers, too, and don't take the elevator back down. Buying tickets online is a must!

Easy to find and to access within minutes from monorail station MR7. Fantastic view both from the rooms and from the pool on KL and located perfectly just right next to the Jalan Alor food street!
It's worth to spend more to stay here, as you're right next to the jungle. Chalets are really nice and cosy, just take care with the monkeys. Tapir can be expected near the restaurant after sunset.
Beatiful building and gardens, worth a visit on it's own and very good spa! Rooms are basic but alright to spend 1-2 days in Melaka.

Location is alright, very nice garden area. Relatively cheap for Bagan. However it starts to get loud very early in the morning, staff shouting and singing, annoying music playing from 7am.
Pick some sticks at the BBQ and choose 1-2 from their superb salads, real great stuff! Draft beer for 750kyats!

Friendly little place. It can take a bit long to get your dinner, but the food is quite good. The owner/waiter/chef is a really cool guy.
Located right next to the canal and small bridge, looks quite romantic. BUT: this is also the place where all boats come and go to the lake and they are very very loud, at 6am you will surely wake up.

Do not stay here! Yes it's cheap and in the central, but this place is disgusting, the room and bath very dirty, worn down and very noisy. Not "western" standard. We rather moved to another hotel.

One of my favorites among the bigger temples. Easy way up to the huge terrace, with an amazing view onto whole Bagan! It is a bit more remote so less crowded most of the time.

Really good value, we had a really nice and cosy room and also a great breakfast, which was included. Perfect location, just a few minutes from the central station and the city centre.
Beer selection is awesome, from local, Danish and English to Czech on draft and all kinds of bottled, you get everything. Nice classic pub interior and atmosphere and quite good burgers.
Nicely prepared dishes with good and fresh ingredients, short menu, above the average prices. Starters are really excellent but the highlight is the desserts, make sure to save room for any of them!

Really don't miss the "secret" path further up to the real top, it can be a tough way but you'll see it was worth the challenge! Just take care when climbing up and back down!
The famous beer fish is indeed excellent! After ordering you'll be guided back to the kitchen to catch your own fish that you'd like to have. A middle sized one is enough for 2 people!

Decent Indian for being on a small Thai island. Special set for 2 persons is good value for 500baht and big portion with good tandoori and tikka masala chicken.

Easy to reach viewpoint with gorgeous view onto Tanote bay. Either some drink consumption is expected or 20THB fee, which is less than at other such viewpoints.
Decent dive site with some little swim-through options, usually less crowded, perfect for fun dives.
Juicy craft burgers made well. Check during happy-hour everyday at 17:30-19:00, when 50% is off every burger, otherwise they'd be a bit pricey.
Definately one of the best spots around if you can get down deeper. Usually good visibility and big schools of fishes at the shallower parts of the main pinnacle.

One of THE main dive sites at Koh Tao, so it can get quite busy. Still beautiful, lots of corals and offering a bit for everyone, from beginners to advanced. Also a popular site for night dives.
Really the best option for snorkling (swim out to the rocky shore on the left/north), beautiful clear water and marine life, even baby sharks show up sometimes! Worth the 100THB fee!
The only craft beer place on Koh Tao. Impressive selection, lots of bottled beer from around the world, mainly Scandinavia and NZ, some Thai collabs, 4-5 things on tap. Happy hour from 5-7.
Upper scale Thai restaurant with higher prices, but amazingly good dishes, go for any of the prawns! Perfect place when going out for a special occasion.
Maybe the best snorkling option on whole Koh Tao is to swim around the jumping rock here. Nice deep and clear, you might even see some titan triggerfishes! And yeah, no entrance fee!
Since it was sunken in 2011, Sattakut has become one of the major deeper dive sites at Koh Tao. Visibility can be poor but still exciting for first time deep and wreck dives.
THE fancy restaurant on Koh Tao. Not cheap but fantastic setting and ambience. Fusion style quality dishes, their ceviche was a delight after all that thai food, superb dessert.
Smaller but also less busy and crowded than Sairee. The sea is very shallow here, better for chilling out rather than swimming or snorkling. And don't miss the baby turtles at New Heaven dive shop!
Decent Thai restaurant, more for foreigners than locals, expect slightly higher prices. Try the larb from the starters and the bit Indian style Yin Yang curry!
Short menu (always a plus for me) but everything on it is superb. Probably the best chicken wings and massaman curry on the island. Instant favourite in Chalok!
