St. Elmo Steak House has been a landmark in downtown Indianapolis since 1902 and has earned a national reputation for its excellent steaks and professional service.
St. Elmo is especially famous for its shrimp cocktail, which comes out with great to-do-four jumbo shrimp, on ice, with a generous dollop of cocktail sauce. And the steak’s pretty epic, too. Leggi tutto
The Shrimp Cocktail is a must though beware the heat... holy cow. I also highly recommend the infused Maker's Mark on the rocks - tasty and enjoyable. Extensive wine list with something for all.
Start with the shrimp cocktail (warning, the cocktail sauce is potent!), and grab one of their steaks with a side of green beans. Baked potato is also a solid side. I also like their navy bean soup!
A prestigious must-eat restaurant. Shrimp so hot it will clear your sinuses, steakfilet mignon that is world renown, and their signature cocktail "Elmo Cola". A once in a lifetime dining experience.
Esquire: Out of all great old steakhouses across the US landscape, might be the strangest. Its signature dish is a shrimp cocktail overloaded w/horseradish (waiters will warn u, u won’t listen)
I was so full and couldn't possibly fit another bit of food in my belly. However, my husband insisted I try something. So, I had one filet slider. It was amazing. Fell apart right in my mouth!
I think it’s the best restaurant here in Cleveland. Try the lamb it’s very good, if you’re gonna try the “famous shrimp cocktail” pls be careful because it’s too hard 🦐
Eins der besten Steakhäuser in denen ich je war. Super Service, guter Shrimpcocktail, hammer Steaks und tolle Weinauswahl. Beim letzten mal hatte ich ein riesen New York Strip Steak, einfach nur Bombe
I had the chopped steak and my girlfriend had the Flat Iron and they were both amazing. Hearty portions and delicious meals. Their beer and wine selection is also interesting
Probably the most well-known Indianapolis restaurant, famous for its blistering-hot shrimp cocktail sauce. Don't be surprised if you see celebs or pro athletes eating there.
Classic steak house ambience featuring wood panelling and friendly noise level. Good spirits list, especially rye and bourbonwhiskies. Steaks, salads and desserts were very good. Large portions.
Their shrimp cocktail was always my highlight for the Indy 500. It's about the cocktail sauce though. Yes, the shrimp are humongous & fresh, but it's the sauce. It will blow your top of your head off!
St. Elmo Steak House was one of the more wished for places throughout 2015’s I Want Somewhere holiday campaign. Where’s your somewhere? Enter to win a bucket list experience. Leggi tutto
Cowboy Bone InRibeye blackened and medium rare was perfect! If u have the shrimp cocktail your sinuses will be clear for days! Great service too! Place is a classic!
Of course I got the shrimp cocktail; it was incredible. This time, I tried the pork chops. They were also fantastic. If you visit Indianapolis and don't eat at St. Elmo's, you wasted your trip.
We shared 2 steaks amoung the 5 of us. No extra charge for splitting (though you cut it up yourselves). Also, amazing shrimpcoctail. Huge shrimp (prawns?) in a sauce with lots of fresh horseradish.
The 12 oz. Filet was magnificent, but my favorite parts were my waiter (incredibly helpful and knowledgeable), the mashed potatoes (rich and decadent), and the tomato juice (weird but fitting).
Holy hell- the shrimp cocktail should be called Brain Freeze. Amazing yet painful at the same time ... also the asiago bread/cracker is the best thing maybe ever.
Ok, so sometimes things tat restaurants are famous for, are tourist traps, but in this case, the shrimp cocktail, is in fact the 'balls'. Order it. If you horseradish!
If you know anything about Monster Energy Supercross in Indy, it's that this is the best steak house in town. Try their shrimp cocktail and run into some famous faces at the same time!
Delicious food, especially the Chicken for those who don't like steak, but expect to take a lot home. Shrimp Cocktail, of course! Waiter was VERY rude, though, to any 21&under members at our table.
Their shrimp cocktail was the highlight of my visits for the Indy 500. It's all about the cocktail sauce though. Yes, the shrimp are humongous & fresh, but it's the sauce. They should sell it!
Everything was great...except the Steak....disappointed....to say the least....great service and the other items were awesome....I've just had better Steaks....
Not a seafood lover but I have to say the shrimp cocktail was the rave in the room. Nice atmosphere. Good sized portions. Great ambassador venue for the city. Yummy
