Small, but very good local beer selection on draft. The entrees are delicious, inexpensive and properly portioned. No reservations; put your name in and grab a drink at a nearby bar. Great oysters.

Neighborhood gem. Awesome rotating beer selection, happy hour from 5-7 on weekdays and incredible oysters. Some of the biggest I've ever eaten! Go immediately. Love the staff too.

Amazing food married with terrific service (at the bar!). Truly a rare combination now a days. Fettuccine is as amazing as all tips note, in addition to the squid salad and cured salmon. Salmon shown.

These guys rock! The bubblegum beer is delicious and only $6 and the food is awesome(scallops!). The whiskey cake at the end is perfect (they also gave us complimentary champagne so...)

Every neighborhood in the world should aspire to hosting a place like this. Friendly service at the bar that’ll make you feel like a regular on your first visit, and a simple but perfect seafood menu.

Upstate has 6 oysters & a beer for $12 on M-F for happy hour. These aren't just Bluepoints, either. Great staff and a solid beer selection. Most importantly, an impressive selection of oysters.

Best grilled salmon, best scallops, best oysters to be found in the East Village. Killer $12 oysters & beers happy hour too. Nothing on the menu disappoints.

For the quality and price, definitely the best oyster happy hour in the city. Seriously good clam pasta and crab cakes. Whisky cake on the house at the end of every meal.

Awesome happy hour. $12 gets you 6 oysters and a craft draft. The dinner dishes looked and smelled incredible. Must go back for dinner. Small spot though so you may need reservations if you're +3.

Oyster happy hour is 5:30-7pm on weeknights. Super cozy for a winter date--I recommend the bar to a table if you can snag a seat because you will have constant service from the friendly bartenders.

Yummy Food. Excellent Restaurant for Sea Food Lovers. Service is very helpful and kind. Quality of Food is excellent and mouth watering.This place has best oyster selection I've ever seen. Happy!

I dk if the craft beer is anything to rave about but oysters were great, salty as I like ‘em, and the scallop main was good for substance. The bottles of wine are super cheap and round out the meal.

Possible largest selection of oysters in NYC--there are often like, 20 kinds a night. But Upstate is also stocked with excellent wines and beers, an amazing pasta, and crazy friendly service.

Best oyster happy hour in the city. $12 for a beer and 6 oysters of your choosing. 5-7 pm. Feel free to ask to taste a few beers if you're on the fence.

The clams are as good as the oysters. I don't care about the response, raw seafood deserves French fries and I wish they them, or croquettes ... But I am happy to go back, what is on the menu is good

Get alll the oysters. More east coast than west, in my opinion. Then get the fettuccine with clams. It's like getting an egg mcgriddle on a Saturday morning. I'm going to need to be rolled home to BK.

get there early because it tends to get crowded quickly. the happy hour deal (half dozen oyster and beer) from 5-7pm is a steal. get the scallop risotto!

Incredible place. Go oyster mad and wash them down with good craft beer. I just wish it opened earlier than 5pm on the weekends.

Visit Upstate on 1st ave for a great happy hour offered everyday from 5-7pm, $12 for 6 oysters and a beer, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu!

If you like seafood, this is your spot! The clams are great, the service is exceptional and the prices are fair. I recommend trying this place is your a seafood enthusiast!

Almost always a long wait, unless you are open to the bar. Just about everything was great - and I'm not a seafood lover. You won't be disappointed.

Oysters are the freshest in the city. The Grilled Tuna is also good. They have a great beer selection to choose from.

Oysters were fantastic, but apps were better than the mains. Snapper is particularly unimpressive. Solid value though. Dinner, drinks, apps, and oysters for five people came to $311.

Great oyster happy hour 5:30-7pm. $12 for 6 oysters and a craft pint (equates to $1 oysters). Oysters in bold on the menu are eligible for the deal. Seating for groups up to 4.

Awesome service!!! The happy hour is great too and they have some really great beers on tap which are rotated as soon as the tap is finished so make sure you try them all.

Got a dozen by picking through the list 2 at a time. Was blown away by the variety and quality of these oysters. Try their bespoke hot sauce, and be nice to the staff - they rule.

A small seafood-centric restaurant in East Village, Upstate serves up a compact but tempting menu. Order the Seared Scallop special, and opt for the Crab Cakes if available.

Everything was delicious! Crab cake and oysters are amazing. Liked the craft beers a lot. Definitely worth trying the whiskey cake at the end.
