Bring earplugs. My ears are still ringing loudly over a month after the last concert I went to. The volume is far beyond loud; it's deafening.

The Independent is one of San Francisco's treasures. You get to see great bands before they're big, the venue is the perfect size and you won't find any screaming teens.

We released our first independent CD here in June 2006. Also, Paul used to work here as a bouncer. He got to see a lot of great shows, fight a guy and get his band mates into show.

If you are going to the independent, go to "Da Pit" and grab some BBQ- it looks run down but the Q is GOOD.
