They say it's haunted. I say it's super classy. Totally recommended. The only 'but' is that they don't have a swimming pool, which in Texas summer should be almost mandatory.
CNNMarzo 6, 2012Opened in 1886, this is the oldest operating hotel in Austin. Legend has it the original owner, cattle baron Jesse Driskill, lost the hotel to his brother in law in a poker game in 1888.

Check out the mezzanine areas if you have a chance nice lounge chairs and you can look out onto 6th street

My only complaint is not experiencing a haunting...other than that..first class cattle baron style

pro tip: if you need to store jackets/laptops for a few hours or so, ask the concierge outside. there's a storage area in back. be nice and tip well!
