Knowing which side of the airplane to sit on so you can see the monuments, memorial, Capitol, etc. depends on which direction you're landing/leaving. Happy travels.
I've started to make it a habit of getting to the airport with only 15 minutes until boarding for my weekly flights. Security is always quick. Hasn't failed me yet!
No one in DC, except the four or five Republicans who live there, calls it 'Reagan.' It's National.
WiFi is now FREE. Make sure to check your security settings on your laptop so you can access the unsecured signal and upon agreeing to the "terms and conditions" for use.
The pick up and drop off can be a hot mess, especially with all the ride shares.
Jennie ChanAprile 7, 2014Cheapest place to get water in the AA concourse in Terminal B? Potbelly's. If you're paying more than 2.40 for a big bottle, you're getting ripped off more than you would anyways.
Always bring earplugs, even if you aren't planning on sleeping. They prevent flying stressed caused by screaming children, seat mates that talk too much, and ear pressure buildup, if you have a cold!
Used an iOS passbook boarding pass. Was very easy getting through security though a little awkward at the scanner since my phone still had to go through the X-ray.
TSA Precheck is awesome to skip the lines, but it closes at 7 sometimes so watch out!
They put these out front when you're waiting to be picked up because the government wants to send you a reminder of how much you're getting screwed
Taylor Gourmet is now open for gates 23-34. Queen Lane breakfast sandwich is amazing!
Best DC-area airport option for access to public transportation.
Shoe shines in Terminal A are some of the best around. If you have some extra time to kill this a great way to spend it!
You can spot any C list douchebag elected rep here peacocking that you like. My favorite is Mitch McConnell, he looks terrified amongst us peasants.
"TSA Pre-Check" @ Reagan National for active duty military is pretty much the best and only efficiency saved us 15-20min; shoes stay on, laptop stays in bag!

There’s some construction going on at the entrance in Terminal A, and you have to take the escalators at the ends only to get to security. Feels like you’re leaving, but it’s down there!
If you have Clear and TSA Pre, your time through security will be easy breezy!

Lots of changes continuing to take place in A concourse, security access areas have changed, make sure you look for signage.
Hit up Five Guys for a delicious bacon, egg, and cheese.. Or try the breakfast burrito from Cal Tor - best options in US Airways terminal for morning munchies.

The TSA Pre Check line is sometimes longer than the regular line!

Bring an empty water bottle. This hands-free bottle fountain is located across from Gate 26.
The hottest spot in town to wait out your flight delays. Wether it's terrible airline service, weather, or air traffic controller furloughs! And sure...your flight will definitely depart in 20 minutes
Terminal C is actually two different terminals with the same name. They can get away with it though since there is a bus inside security to take you back and forth between the two.
The bar in the terminal with gates 35 and above is always packed. Grab a drink before you go to your terminal.

I'm glad I live close enough to make Reagan National my home airport! If you have a chance, go to Gravely Point and stand just beneath the flight paterrn where the planes take off and land-very cool!
If you call it "national" to a cabbie, good luck getting to the airport without a confusing conversation. Quit pretending to have lived here for years, people.
KarenAprile 26, 2023The airport is small. All the flights leave almost at the same time between 5-6. The airport basically clears out for the next wave.
In the words of the immortal Will Smith, "I'm goin to Miami" well then driving to Boca...but I can still sing the song!!

Always have more connections than Dulles if you in the region. Small but service is fast
Smaller airport, quick security lines. Not much at terminals but major renovations underway so there are more restaurants coming soon! One of my fav airports.
Fly out late night or mid-day to avoid crowds. US Airways has a bus/airport shuttle between terminals C and B.
