My first time visiting the Philadelphia Zoo. What a great experience, every animal was breath taking. What I loved❤️the most was the PECO PRIMATE 🦍RESERVE.

Richard RevillaAgosto 3, 2015America's first zoo. Parking is easy now with new deck. Plenty of shade throughout to keep you cool on hot days.
Still nice to check out in the colder months. Santa at the treehouse, plus you can still see a lot of the animals out. Not all of course, but I was surprised in comparison to other zoos.

Amy GehrisMaggio 6, 2016Avoid coming on rainy days. None of the animals are out and there was only one indoor eating area, which was filled to capacity. The children still had a wonderful time. The Primate House is the best

michelle sinkSettembre 20, 2015Something for everyone. Very kid and family friendly. Weekdays are best for avoiding crowds. But bring a lunch since most food courts are closed. Love the kids petting zoo.

Right when you come into Bank of America Big Cat Falls there is a chain link fence with a bit of vegetation against it. Look down, one of the big cats likes to laze about in that shade.

HISTORYAprile 16, 2010Opened in 1874, this is the first zoo in the US. It's home to more than 1,300 animals, many of which are rare & endangered and is the only zoo breeding giant otters in North America.- The big snapping turtle is named Meatball. He breathes air, so if you wait long enough, he'll have to move, and that is an impressive sight indeed.

Much renovation lately. Parking needs to be addressed as well as traffic flow.

- Visit First Niagara Big Cat Falls and you just might be lucky enough to see the new African lioness Tajiri!
Overhead trails, great conservation program.
Check out the McNeil Avian Center. Many colorful birds to see there.
