Ian JefferyNovembre 19, 2012When an airport lets you buy express lane passes to get through security, you know they have serious queue problems! Worth the £3 pp to avoid said queues. Still a rip off that you have to do that!
The "priority lane" through security is very much worth doing if you're in a rush! Great London airport for budget airlines

Best £3 I ever spent on the priority check in. They have little kiosks around the ground floor. Even if it seems empty believe me it will be busy at the check in so break the bank and spend £3.

Jacob JayNovembre 17, 2018Much improved since a redesign, can exit and reenter security (for transfer) in 30mins at 9am Sat (not busy). Limited seating though, found sockets in The Smithfield pub airside.
Far better since the renovations finished. Still perfectly serviceable to fly from, but recommend another airport for the return leg if arriving late. Relying on the station shuttle bus is risky!
If you need to wait a while (not in the departure lounge), there are a few padded seats in the arrivals section, right next to the Onward Travel Centre. All other seats have a cold, hard metal base.
Bring a gas mask for massive cloud of 2nd hand cigarette smoke you walk into when you leave the terminal building. Great place to put smoking area! Welcome to the uk ..fancy some cancer?

It was about time they opened a restaurant other than Frankie and Bennie's where holidays always started with crappy service and indigestion. You can now choose between Wasabi and Bella Italia.
Ian SMarzo 14, 2014Rather than spending a fortune on hotel accomodation try searching for airbnb. It's a website offering many local options including airport pick up n drop off. Far better than a hotel.

Steven CreightonSettembre 18, 2018Absolutely shambolic airport. The worst organisation you’ll ever see. Border Control are a joke, expect to queue for hours to get through passport control. Then it’s a 90 min drive to London! Rubbish.

Don't forget to bring some coins with you. You'll have to buy a plastic bag for your liquids.
Самый дешёвый вариант сгонять туда-обратно в город - это автобус Greenline. 18£ туда-обратно или 11£ в одну сторону. Можно купить прямо в приложении Arriva чуть дешевле прямо перед посадкой в автобус
AldonaGiugno 15, 2012If you want to spend the night, be prepared there's extremely limited seating downstairs and it gets chilly. Have a sleeping bag and a sweater! It was quiet until 3 am, though.

Now they have opened a second security zone (zone 2). Worth it, especially if you don't have luggage to check-in. Downside is far from duty-free once you are airside.
Laura HindeGiugno 9, 2018Used this airport several times now. It’s my favourite one. Not too big, easy to get around, lots of shops and food/drink choices. Easily accessible terminals :)
Be prepared to spent an hour at the border control. Also it takes ages to get to London from here.

Stuff is easy to find, airport is not big. Only downside is that it has been under reconstruction for a while and that makes it look very ugly.
Gracia AltaMaggio 7, 2018Small. Get from the Check-in to gate within the one hour. Not enough seats but that's normal for a low carrier airport. Arrivals is also very fast and clear signs to the PT.
When booking a train ticket to/from the airport, choose "Luton Airport" - not Luton Airport Parkway. The latter doesn't include fee for shuttle bus service.
Assyl TobakabulovGiugno 18, 2015Good airport but far away from the city. Good wifi. Toilets are always crowded so you can use that for disabled person, because they are empty.
Airside Starbucks has the most plug sockets, benugo also have a few at their bench seating
It's now £4 to go through Priority Security. Worth the money on a Monday morning or Friday night.
