The airport is dead after 9.30 pm. Very bad time for departures as restaurants and shops close down for the day and very good time to arrive for a quick immigration clearance.

Early morning flight and need a place to brunch? Go to Paris Croissant Cafe at the Arrival Hall (not at the departure). Less crowd, more seating space, pleasant staffs.
Plan extra time through security of your transferring. It never fails, they empty my entire carry on (all electronics for work)

Believe my problem was with chinese airline and not airport problem... They just allowed me do check in exactly 2 hours in advance! I arrived 3 and half hours before the flight...

Duty free allows you to pay in dollars, avoiding the US conversion charge. You can also get free wifi outside of either Korean Air lounge, as their signal is not blocked.

"다녀 본 공항 중 열차 이용이 제일 황당함. 탑승동행 열차를 타려면 땅 속으로 한참을 오르락내리락, 적은 운행횟수, 엄청난 대기줄, 한 번 타면 돌아올 수 없는 변태적인 구조. 늦은 시간엔 운행을 제한해 열차 때문에 비행기 놓칠 수도 있음. 야간에 열린 매장 거의 없음. 생수 하나 사기 힘듬. 외항사 탈 생각하면 짜증부터 나게되는 제일 큰 이유가 탑승동."
