Das Gesamtpaket macht diesen Airport zu einem der schlechtesten im Land. Dürftige Anbindung, Auswahl an Snacks ist schwach, zu wenig Sitzmöglichkeiten an den Gates, Sicherheitskontrollen überlastet.

Hamburg Airport was opened in January 1911, making it the oldest airport in the world still in operation. In November 2016 it was named after former senator of Hamburg and chancellor of Germany, Helmut Schmidt. It is the fifth-busiest airport in Germany with 17.3 million passengers in 2019.
