Elfreth’s Alley is well-known to most locals & visitors, but Bladen’s Court is a hidden courtyard off the alley that packs even more punch. Rumors are that it is haunted & a soldier was hung there.

Worth a stroll through this historic place; don't bother doing it as part of an organized tour—it's better to do it solo and look up history online.

rumor has it that when Ben Franklin lived off this tiny cobblestone alley he invented the exterior mirror fixtures, to tip him off on his wife’s arrival and release his paramour(s). Cheeky!

Sneak down that one alley nearer to front and hang out in Bladen's Court. Chill little cove back there.
