I have been to many museums across the US, and this is one of the best. There are so many hands on activities for the kids. As an adult I love it too! The dinosaur exhibit is one of the best.

The Mayans were fascinating: they monitored the sky every night and via extensive record keeping were able to predict astronomical phenomena because they kept perfect records for hundreds of years.

Good place for a quick trip. Check to see what the visiting exhibit is. The different climate areas are disappointing -- just some stuffed animals. Their IMAX shows are generally very good.

This museum has Colorado Free days! Free admission for everyone (excluding special features and IMAX). Get there early unless you don't mind driving around for a very long time looking for parking.

This is a fun family place with lots of diverse exhibits. A little too loud and overstimulation for me, but it seems like a great place to take the kids.

Did you know? The museum began in 1868 in the log cabin of Edwin Carter, a pioneer and naturalist who amassed a large collection of Colorado birds and mammals, and displayed them in his home.

Fun for the family! Consider “checking in” at a location as you are leaving, rather than upon arrival, to minimize the chance of an unwanted encounter with someone unknown.

Don't take your little kids if they're under the age of 5 or 6. You won't get to enjoy anything, they won't understand anything, and they'll get in everyone else's way
