The best time to go is really early in the morning so there are not a lot of people. Its best to go to the museum first and the Basilica after. Museum is free on sundays!

Unlike everybody says, the best time to arrive is at 12ish. The queue is significantly smaller and there are less annoying hawkers on the streets.

If you are afraid of spontaneously combusting upon entering, don't worry! There are big basins of water conveniently by the door!

Pay the extra money for a tour to cut the lines into the museum and the Sistine Chapel!

Make sure you are not wearing anything above the knees and to have your shoulders covered - the churches are very strict with this policy.

Visit at night. We were there at 10pm. Plenty of people around taking photos, chilling around the fountain. Great shots, safe place.

на улице много людей предлагают взять гида за доплату и без очереди посетить Ватикан, но не особо это нужно. Очередей особо нет, почитать обо всем можно и в инете. Не будете зависить от группы.

Não existe como ir a Roma e não ter um dia exclusivo no Vaticano!! Se informe pois podes comprar adiantado os passeios e visitas pela internet, sem ficar na fila!
