    Very small museum but worth the free entry. The building is gorgeous. My favorite was the Maori portraits - obviously unique to New Zealand.

    Wide-ranging collection with the hoped-for emphasis on New Zealand artists. Free admission. Cool cafe, with Steampunk coffee maker.

    There's no permanent collection, and exhibitions change regularly. Gottfried Lindauer's portraits of important Maori figures are amazing.

    Degas to Dali exhibition is simply wonderful, although don't expect to see much of Dali. Worth a visit even if you are not into art

    The Light Show special exhibit was good but the rest of the museum was pretty small without any real standout work.
