9VSKA: The one-and-only item: brown sugar bubble tea (but no tea inside) • Actually, it’s a drink with rich milk + brown sugar + perfectly-cooked black pearls (“bubble”). My first-stop shop on Taipei visits!

Y: A modern take to traditional Taiwanese breakfast in a casual, trendy setting. Very good food and must-try is the breakfast egg roll. Crispy and delicious!

9VSKA: Famous for their face-sized, deep-fried chicken cutlets. Can be had with or without chilli. Ideally share with others (quite a lot!) • While there are branches, this is the “home” store (sentimental).

eifeh: Easily one the best guabao places. Get the half fat/half lean guabao (綜合割包). Not too oily and very tender. Pork bone corn broth (玉米排骨湯) is also very flavorful and great on a cold day. Closed Mondays.
Amber: Traditional Taiwanese shave ice. Their most popular dish with mango and condensed milk is simple but exactly right. Fresh, balanced, tasty. IMHO, much, much better than ice monster or smoothie house.
Eatosaurus Rex: If you judged this place on the line it would be the best scallion pancake in Taipei. If judged on flavor, it would still be the best scallion pancake in Taipei.

Amber: Potentially the best night market for street food in all of Taipei. The pepper buns really are worth the wait. Other highlights: ice cream crepes with shaved peanut brittle and cilantro, mummy kebabs

MikiRei: Rumoured 1 of the best minced pork rice in Taipei as recommended by Taiwan foodies. Succulent pork pieces but surprisingly not too oily with a very unique taste. Definitely worth the trip.

Renee T: Fantastic bar & bartender. Extensive collection of whiskies & other ingredients. Great atmosphere, super friendly. The location is fronted by Relax cafe. Dark hardwood, dim lights. Closed on Sunday.
Amber: The view is great, looking out over the whole city with Taipei 101 front and center. An especially nice spot at sunset, just be prepared for it to be overrun with everyone else who had the same idea.
