9VSKA: One of the quieter, lesser-renowned night markets in Taipei, yet it still offers an abundance of local quite-bites and delights. Check out the neighbouring food/drinks stores too while you’re there!
Ristorante per la colazione cinese · Zhōngzhèng Qū · 195 consigli e recensioni
9VSKA: Best local breakfast joint in Taipei! Highly recommended: youtiao (big, deep-fried dough sticks — best I’ve ever had!) and soya bean drink (can be had hot/cold, with/out sugar) • Expect to queue!
Pasticceria · Sōngshān Qū · 85 consigli e recensioni
9VSKA: If you’re hoping to order tea with their famous pineapple cakes, think again! Customers are seated & presented with a single portion (sample) of cake with tea (refillable). Purchase expected, I think.

Jin Ngee Chia: Very good marketing ploy that actually works! You visit and you are given free complimentary pineapple pastry and tea. After trying you get enthusiastic or ridden with guilt to buy a box of pastry!
Raduno di cibo di strada · Shìlín Qū · 286 consigli e recensioni
9VSKA: This is the one everyone talks about, and rightly so for the vast amounts (and variations) of food/drinks/retail lining the streets and laneways. Big crowds; more focused on quantity, not quality.
Ristorante Taiwanese · Zhōngzhèng Qū · 22 consigli e recensioni
9VSKA: Prepared to be time-warped back to the 60s/70s! A very unique atmosphere where you can enjoy various local dishes (meals) and other delights. Tried the pork chop, with veges, rice and soup. Just yum!

Ashley Fang: This is the place if u r looking for retrospective Taiwanese flavour. And not only the food, the decoration and services will also bring you back in time.
Mercato notturno · Zuoying · 35 consigli e recensioni
9VSKA: Seemingly the main night market in Kaohsiung, with all its hustle-and-bustle. You can practically find all kinds of food and drinks here, whether it’s new or old. One visit is certainly not enough! 🤔
Mercato notturno · Zuoying · 35 consigli e recensioni
Chai Latte: My favorite night market in Taiwan. Don't hesitate if you find something you like otherwise you won't find the shop ever again once you left! The best place to empty your wallet in Kaohsiung!
9VSKA: The one-and-only item: brown sugar bubble tea (but no tea inside) • Actually, it’s a drink with rich milk + brown sugar + perfectly-cooked black pearls (“bubble”). My first-stop shop on Taipei visits!
9VSKA: If you’re sick of the night market’s craziness, and want some proper food (proper meal), it can be found here — below the real Shilin Market. Besides food, the juice store next to the stairs is 👌🏼!
9VSKA: Not the famous Shilin “Night” Market, but a real market located right next to it in the area. A more down-to-earth collection of stores, as well as entertainment, for all ages. • Food court below.
Locale con specialità pollo fritto · Shìlín Qū · 32 consigli e recensioni
Justin T: Fried chicken cutlet the size of your face. There are now branches throughout shilin night market, Taipei, and even around the world, but nothing beats getting it at the original location!
Locale con specialità pollo fritto · Shìlín Qū · 32 consigli e recensioni
9VSKA: Famous for their face-sized, deep-fried chicken cutlets. Can be had with or without chilli. Ideally share with others (quite a lot!) • While there are branches, this is the “home” store (sentimental).
Mercato notturno · Sōngshān Qū · 138 consigli e recensioni
Daniel Ng: One of the best markets for a variety of local delicacies (arguably better than 士林). Centrally located and easy to navigate as everything is on the one street.
Mercato notturno · Sōngshān Qū · 138 consigli e recensioni
9VSKA: A night market with shops throughout a long stretch of pedestrianised road, and two “alleyways” of food and drinks (good variety), and tourist-y shopping.
Ristorante di noodle · Wànhúa Qū · 166 consigli e recensioni
9VSKA: An original “Made in Ximending” food stop: a stand-up noodle shop, serving thin noodles (‘misua’ or ‘mee sua’) in a thick broth with condiments. Add chilli/garlic/vinegar to your preference. Just 😋!
Ristorante Taiwanese · 中正區 · 63 consigli e recensioni
9VSKA: Pork buns! (Get the half-lean, half-fat version: best balance of tasty & good amounts of meat) • Soups! (Go for the pork-with-corn) • Good time to go is between meal times → small queues. Best snack!
Ristorante Taiwanese · 中正區 · 63 consigli e recensioni
Tash Shan: No English menus so here's my translation (courtesy of a helpful local). Combined with a brown sugar bubble tea from across the road you've got one of Taiwan's best cheap eats for under NT$100
Ristorante Hotpot · Wànhúa Qū · 6 consigli e recensioni
9VSKA: Local hot pot restaurant, buffet style. Food is very fresh; wide variety of items! Excellent drinks & dessert bar (for that “extra stomach” that some of us have!) 1h30m sessions; booking recommended!
Mercato del pesce · Zhōngshān Qū · 161 consigli e recensioni
9VSKA: Located at Taipei Fish Market, this establishment hosts an array of Japanese-themed foods, consisting of both cooked and uncooked. Oh, the sushi bar is AMAZING — a must-try! • *Cash only* • Go early!
Panetteria · Zhōngzhèng Qū · 2 consigli e recensioni
9VSKA: Visited briefly to check out the selection of cakes and pastries. Ended up taking home some of the best bread items I’ve ever took a bite out of! Will most certainly return on subsequent Taipei trips!
9VSKA: Slightly out-of-the-way of the hustle-and-bustle, this tea house offers a wide variety of Chinese teas, and prepared in the traditional way. Snacks are also available. Quiet and serene atmosphere.
