ConoGiugno 12, 2013白河院は、寵愛する祇園女御の所に行く途中で、化け物と遭遇する。院のお供であった忠盛(清盛の父)は、それを灯籠に火をつけようとする老法師だと見破る。その灯籠がこれ。忠盛のその冷静さを称賛し、院は祇園女御を褒美として与えるが、この時、女御は既に院の子を身ごもっていたとも言われ、そのお腹の子が清盛だと『平家物語』は伝えている。

龍Febbraio 9, 2014言わずと知れた京都で有名な神社の一つ。旧官幣大社で、通称は祇園さん。祭神は素戔嗚尊・奇稲田姫命・八柱御子神。創建は貞観年間 (859～877年) というが諸説ある。全国にある八坂神社の総本社であり、7月の祇園祭・元日の白朮祭は有名。旧称、祇園天神・祇園社・牛頭天王社。重要文化財は桜門や本殿など多数。

"【重文】応仁の乱で焼失した後、明応6年（1497）に再建された門。四条通に西面し、その門前は通称祇園石段下とよばれ八坂神社を象徴する景観であるが、正面参道は石鳥居と楼門のある南側であり、この西楼門を神輿が出入りすることはない（※神輿洗は例外。神様は乗っていない）。この楼門には蜘蛛が巣をはったことがないとか、石段に雨だれの痕がつかないとかの不思議があるという。"
