Aroon: Skip the food just watch the show. Out of all my recs this is the most important thing to do
Marissa: You will not regret going, it was one of the most bizarre and memorable experience in Tokyo, think sexy dancers meets robots with a theatrical flare. Dinner was very meh, but the show was insane.
Aroon: Super cool toy store with things from every anime. make sure you use the metro to get around it's pretty cheap
Jeff: Buy all the cute things.
Lester: The trip via train is more than 6 hours, but you can take a night train for an additional $50ish and sleep the entire way there.
Jeff: This is a couple block neighborhood full of really awesome bars. Great place for a crawl.
Marissa: Ditto on golden gai, definitely spend an evening here sitting in a small bar, chatting with the owner and drinking amazing japanese whiskey ... we spent most of our time in a Spanish themed one, but think as long as you can find seats its hard to go wrong.
Tim: A neighborhood filled with endless rows of bars that only hold 6 people.
Jeff: What people say about this pizza is true. After days of eating Japanese food, this is basically gonna be the best thing you ever ate.
Jeff: If you're gonna do this, make sure to plan for around 45m-1h of waiting before getting to go up. If I were you, I'd just pick whatever day is clear and take sunset - 90 minutes and go get yourself some awesome shots.
Jeff: Couple steps out of this station and you'll all be like 'yeah, that's what I expected Japan to be like'
Jeff: Here's the big tip -- this place is swarming with tourists trying to get their Instagramz. If you want to have some serenity, grab a quick breakfast and grab the earliest possible train down here and get up into the mountain before everyone else. It's definitely worth it.
Kathy: If you have the stamina, climb to the top of the mountain. Even if you don't, don't take the same way down the mountain. The other way down is less tourist-y and has a lot of little shrines.
Elizabeth: At the shrine of friendship, never say die. Let the wine of friendship never run dry.
Marissa: We had a great night dancing here til sunrise, was a mix of Japanese club kids and foreigners.
Kathy: I didn't go here, but it's a popular destination. Deer park! The deer just wander around the park, not scared of people at all.
Tim: Come here and order an old fashioned. Sit at the long table and pretend you're in Lost In Translation. I think I see Scar Jo.
Tim: Place oozes style with Joni Mitchell records playing in the background. Cozy space. Coffee by day, booze by night. wifi = cocktails
