Get there right when they open, sit at the bar, order some Sapporos and start making your way through the specials written on the cabinet. Then, prepare for mind expansion.

Fresh, top-quality sushi and sashimi at an unbeatable price. Amaebi w/ it's deep fried head, geoduck, scallop, uni and much more. One of the most traditional and authentic Japanese restaurants.

Nice service. Usually need to reserve but I got lucky with Walk in. Salmon is fresh and I love Tekka don! The miso soup is tasty too. $25-35 per person usually.

Try the Black Cod Kasuzuke - A must here at Maneki. Amazing flavors and texture. Marinated in kasu (the lees of sake) and grilled, the cod transforms into little succulent bites of heaven. (via @Food

Spicy tuna roll and chicken yakisoba were good in a small, old-fashioned space. I think it's the oldest restaurant in Seattle.

"The absolute king of 'how the hell is this so cheap' in Seattle is the miso-glazed black cod collar at Maneki. $7.50 for what would be easily twice that at almost any other restaurant."

Try the Black Cod Kasuzuke - I can't seem to resist this every time. Black Cod, you're too good + a soba soup on the side. And Barley Shochu.
