Ohelei Torah, opened in 1957, currently occupies the historic Brooklyn Jewish Center (1920). 1600 students attend various branches of the school, with many of them going on to become Chabad emissaries
Once a doctors office, the building was purchased in 1940 as a home for the sixth Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Joseph Isaac Schneersohn. Today it houses Chabad Lubavitch Headquarters.
