    Life is too short to reach professionally smoked fish. This place is a legend. You'll find everything smoked and fish with different types of cures and the best caviars for a feast. Go get them tiger!

    Travel back to 1914 and an immigrant's Lower East Side with this New York gem. Best cream cheeses and smoked salmon in the city. Try the white fish salad and don't forget to take a number!

    If you’re only going to eat here once, you have to have a bagel (get the pumpernickel) with cream cheese & lox, but they also have other smoked fish, caviar & desserts. You can’t go wrong here. Enjoy!

    The everything bagel with scallion cream cheese and lox of your choice! Norwegian is a bit fattier but I love it, Scottish is also great. Super Heebster was a bit salty, like an upgraded tuna salad.

    Take your number, wait for them to call out. Try everything bagel with smoked salmon along with lox cream cheese. They also have excellent caviar creme cheese. Be prepared to wait. $10 min on CC

    High-quality lox and scallion cream cheese bagel that is prepared with care. I liked that the bagel was perfectly-sized and all the fillings were well-proportioned. One of the best bagels I've had.

    Small grocer that you can buy bagel and lox to go. It’s on the pricier side but the smoked salmon is one of the most highest quality, delicious pieces of lox I’ve ever had

    First time brought a bagelwich, second time brought cinnamon babka, chocolate babka and a macaron. Love the cinnamon babka better, it had a balance between sweet and salt.

    Best bagel in the city. Norwegian Salmon is a bit saltier, and perfect with scallion cream cheese. Definitely worth going out of your way for, and a classic that lives up to the name and hype.

    While delicious, the bagels are a bit on the small side. We still love to order one of the many varieties of smoked fish plus cream cheese on an everything bagel, & extra pastrami lox to eat at home!

    Amazing smoked fish and other appetizing specialities. Try the Gaspe Nova and belly lox, and don't forget to grab some pickles and whitefish salad (or their wasabi roe!) to go with it.

    Get a ticket when you walk in. No place to sit so ideally you're here when it's nice out, or take it home. Sesame bagel with Norwegian salmon and caviar cream cheese was delicious.

    Went in here for the first time and was not disappointed. I did an everything bagel with horseradish cream cheese, salmon (if you like it mild, let them know) and tomato. Perfect start to the day.

    They have new catch herring June through August. Get it on a sandwich -- it's not on the menu, but the best Dutch sushi you can get anywhere this side of the pond.

    Mouth watering appetizers, smoked fish and bagel sandwiches. Grab a number & be prepped to wait..but it's worth it. Try lox on baily w/cream cheese & pickled herring onions. Your mouth will love u.

    Everything. Try the Scottish salmon on an everything bagel with scallion lox. The herring in cream sauce is also just mouth watering.

    Wow, this is an exceptional establishment! They have incredible bagel and lox, smoked and cured fish, traditional pastries etc. Just go in, and don't be intimidated by the long line.

    I usually go for the mild Scottish smoked salmon, the king salmon fish eggs (ikura), the smoked trout mousse, and the dill cream cheese. Sometimes I throw in a herring or two.

    Truly iconic New York spot, for an iconic NY sandwich. Bagel and lox with scallion cream cheese and raw onion. You'll need a mint after but it's worth it.

    Get a bagel with lox. The salmon is rich and fatty with all that delicious fish oil. They also let you try their selection of cured fish. The creamed herring is good.

    You can get a better value salmon bagel anywhere, so skip it and definitely get the Super Heebster instead. It really is amazing.

    Gaspe Nove w/ natural cream cheese on Whole Wheat&all the toppings=$14. First, so pricey! :( And don't come here expecting good 'bagel'. You're here for their cream cheese and SALMON. Good portion too

    My friend Adam says, "For fish and bagels (lox, whitefish salad and kippered salmon)." Get the kippered salmon bagel and a beet-lemon shrub juice. Amazing. Bagels themselves could be softer.

    Established 1914; moved 1920. Continuously family-owned. One of the last appetizing shops left in NYC. “Appetizing” is a Jewish food tradition most easily understood as "foods eaten with bagels.”
