Mark Lee: Lovely waterfront with expensive cruisers and yachts to gaze at; cafes, bars and restaurants on land and one on the water. Salthouse Hotel on waterfront and Premier Inn two minutes from waterfront.

Mark Lee: CoVid19 era full breakfast served from behind screen, unlike BA Club that (nice breakfast bin ordered on mobile brought to your seat). Nice safe cubicles to sit in at Plaza Premium, free with AmexP
Mark Lee: Tasty pre-Christmas festive menu. The Albert is a 10 minute walk from Town Centre has an adjacent Premier Inn Colchester Cowdray Avenue (Premier Inn Town Centre a 7 minute walk even nearer Town).
Mark Lee: Site of the execution of Royalist Generals after the Siege of Colchester by the Parliamentarian forces. Just to the south of the Norman Castle that is built on top of the remains of the Roman Temple.
Mark Lee: Tall Victorian Towered Town Hall with statue of St Helen, the Borough's Patron Saint on top. Only occasionally open to public. Can attend Council committee meetings to observe.
Mark Lee: 1883 Water Tower decommissioned in the 1980s and comprising 1 million 2 hundred thousand bricks! An amazing sight probably unique in the United Kingdom.
