cool speakeasy bar. there's no sign, you go down the stairs and the entrance is at the back of the building. there's a secret room behind a bookshelf. fridays and saturdays are 25+ to enter.
This space was awesome as section of Niagara and it was truly hidden but now its separate and swankier.
Enter through Cipriani on the balcony at Grand Central & you'll feel as if you have entered a bygone era. Drinks are expensive ($15 martini) but the atmosphere is worth it. Reserve a table in advance.
Though you won't find any great cocktails here, it's still a quality and uniquely beer-centric speakeasy in the NYU area.
Sangria and/or house-infused vodkas a must! The early bird gets to snag a booth and happy hour prices (till 9pm!) Great bar food til 10pm except Mondays for some reason!
A hidden hang out when you need a rest from all the walking around the museum. Grab a drink from the bar and enjoy the view.
One of the best subterranean spots in the city. Since they don't have noise complaints worries, some parties have rocked til 5am. Make sure you know what party you're attending when the doorman asks.
