- B MMaggio 31, 2017Definitely recommend buying lounge (Aspire or Number1) for approx £22. Complimentary food/alcohol with Number1 offering prosecco. By the time you buy in main departure lounge it works out cheaper
- Well connected to domestic and European destinations, also served by Emirates, therefore good connection worldwide. Not as chaotic as major airports, great facility for travel lovers in the Midlands.
- You can be stuck in the arrival hall due to terrible organization of border controlVotato positivo Nov 19
- All Bar One by gates 1-20 is much quieter and nicer than the main departure lounge area.
- The best way to get to the airport from downtown is to take Virgin trains (one stop, less than 10 mins) Otherwise, take the slower London Midland train which stops twice before getting to BHX.
- Sunday lunchtime before Bank Holiday Monday, it took 35 minutes from getting off the aeroplane to passing the Border Control... Heaven only knows what Brexit is going to serve up...
- Can get through Check-in quickly. Spend a few hours in departure lounge. Cafes, bars, shops etc. Arrivals after getting case can get to taxi rank pretty quickly.
- Elish Bul-GodleyGennaio 21, 2014Dress in layers if in airport & NEC venue only. Always sweltering. #PretaManger has best value grub at departures. 7kilos hand luggage only if heading to Dublin via Aer Lingus. Easy on the brochures
- Top top: Executive Lounges close at 20:00 and Le Meridien is pleasant and there are plug sockets near the comfy chairs! Perfect for iPhone users :)
- If you are running late, you can pay £5 for express check-in on the day (£3 pre-booked 24hrs ahead). Can save you 20-30 mins queuing through security.
- Eda ToganOttobre 31, 2013Easy to move around, spaced out and not crazy as Heathrow, the only thing is the fact that you cant find a flight from Birmingham to Istanbul frequently, only in the mornings:-(
- MeganGiugno 16, 2013If you're planning to be picked up or dropped off, do so at Birmingham International Railway Station as there is a free, 2 min monorail to the airport and you skip the fees at BHX.
- Plenty of shops, pubs & restaurant for your last minute gift shopping and your own pampering before flight....✈✈✈
- RDI OnlineSettembre 12, 2013As a distance leaner, it's great to be able to convert your work commute into valuable classroom time - bring your tablet along and learn on the go!
- With it being 8 min to the City Centre and on the train line to Euston, it’s far better than most of the London area airports
- Linda NazGiugno 30, 2011If you 4 hours away by train, it is better to come to the airport a day early. Check in at nearby airport as you will have an ample time to get boarding pass and relax at the lounge before depart.
- Love it all! Great shops, staff, everything. Dixon’s is especially good!
- Get the X1 from city centre gets you to the door of the airport in under half an hour
- Jonathan HughesMarzo 31, 2014Great new Pret A Manger, sit within easy sight of the departure board and drag a coffee out.
- Nice airport - busy enough that there's stuff to do but not so busy that you're queuing for hours. Has direct rail links to Birmingham and London.
- If you're flying a FlyBe operated flight, pick FlyBe on the self checkin - even if you booked through Air France!
- How many cleaning staff does it take to clean up a spilled cup of cola? 5. One to warn the public, one to put out some stools as barriers, one to bring a mop, one to bring a bucket, and one supervisor
- M&S food is perfect to grab a ready meal for when you get home or a tasty sandwich on your way out instead of an overpriced tasteless one from the airline!
- If you want to see planes, go to the gates. It's ok even when you don't have a go to gate yet :)
- Jen FAgosto 14, 2015Loads of great facilities both before and after security to fill time in while you wait.
- It's a bit annoying you can't get your gate number till last minute, I much prefer to go, sit at the gate and zone out till boarding than watching the board for the last minute dash to the gate...
- All the landside shops close early, bear this in mind if you're arriving in the evening.
- Kasra GholikhanSettembre 2, 2017A unique airport in West Midlands with easy-to-find access points:-)
- Imogen QuigleyFebbraio 27, 2014Get gel nails in 15 mins at the Cloud nail bar by Pret...one less thing to do before you go away!
- Zuzan S.Gennaio 2El control de seguridad es muy estricto, pueden tardar mucho, son muy minuciosos al revisar, lleguen con tiempo.
- Lee IngramAprile 28, 2015Service is very good in most of the different concessions, considering its such a busy place.
- Stephen BarnesOttobre 18, 2013Staff at the security area are really pleasant and helpful. That must be a first anywhere!!!
- JanAgosto 1, 2016One of those airports without decent waiting areas that is unable to post gates earlier than 40 minutes before departure. I can forgive that on airports with heavy traffic like LHR, but not here.
- Ivan HernandezFebbraio 18, 2015It's not the biggest one neither the most modern but it's ok, the best thing is that it has the train station near!
- Head to gates 1 - 20 for a much quieter rest area, away from the tourists! Wetherspoons will serve you breakfast in 5 minutes.
- WH smith Bottle of buxton and the daily telegraph is the cheapest means of a drink- £1.20
- The free Wi-Fi is apparently for ten minutes only, with adverts.
- NikkiAgosto 30, 2012Some good make-up counters now in duty free. Bags for your liquids cost £1 as do luggage trollys and the drop off car park.
- Although small, the departure gate does have quite a lot of shops
- Rainer FreischheimOttobre 26, 2013Very nice airport with sockets for Your electrical devices everywhere !
- You like the fast lane ???? Good, but you better print your boarding card as the scan from your smartphone isn't working
