Austinites love to run it out on the city’s many running trails. Because runners are darn near a political party in this town, there are plenty of places to find a running group or pick up gear.

Austin 360: Lady Bird Lake Trail is a 10-mile loop in the heart of the city. Mile 0 starts at Auditorium Shores, crosses over Interstate 35 into East Austin and loops back around toward the MoPac Bridge.

Austin 360: Grab a gel or sports drink for your run, or find a new pair of running shoes to train for your next race. Several running groups and fitness boot camps meet here as well.
Austin 360: This park is tucked away off of Slaughter Lane and is an escape from the growing suburbs around it. It features 6 miles of trails, various fields and courts, a disc golf course and playground.

Austin 360: Currently a three-mile trail, the Walnut Creek Trail should grow roughly another two miles as improvements continue. Some spots are a little rough, but it’s a nice reprieve from running on asphalt.
Austin 360: The Shoal Creek Greenbelt follows along North Lamar Boulevard and extends north to Pease Park. It’s about 5 miles long and close to civilization should you need a water or sports-drink boost.
