Favorite foods from my two trips there.
1. La Banquise
Amy 🍦: Poutine paradise. The "regular" (vs. "large") is more than enough food to fill you up. Remember that you're not here to be healthy.
2. Patati Patata
Journal Métro: La poutine peut y être rehaussée légèrement avec la patatine, une spécialité de l’endroit qui ajoute quelques légumes à la recette traditionnelle.
3. Marché Jean-Talon
Amy 🍦: Seasonal produce, generous samples everywhere you go, and delicious ready-to-eat foods. And don't forget dessert - Havre Aux Glaces is a must.
4. Havre aux glaces
Amy 🍦: Every flavor is incredible, but particularly loved the pistachio, fig, maple crème brûlée, and pear.
5. Première Moisson
Amy 🍦: Definitely get a croissant (mmm maple cream or almond) and also check out their seasonal breads and pastries.
6. Au Pied de Cochon
Amy 🍦: Duck in a can is a novelty - fun to watch and eat. Can't go wrong with anything with foie gras.
7. Schwartz's Montreal Hebrew Delicatessen
Jean-Francois Perreault: Ask for a smoked meat sandwich with a cherry coke. It's a traditional must.
8. Juliette & Chocolat
9. St-Viateur Bagel (La Maison du Bagel)
Amy 🍦: Smaller, softer, sweeter, with a larger hole. Nothing like a NYC bagel - definitely worth trying.
10. Café Olimpico
Amy 🍦: Lots of outdoor seating. Perfect for hipster watching.
11. L’Évidence
Amy 🍦: Come for brunch, sit outside, order some eggs, and marvel at the fruit plate that comes with your meal.
12. Rôtisserie Romados
E Birdshaw: Best chicken, one meal serves two... If you dare to share!
