Seattle's 400+ Parks [Part 1]

James Wang: If you want to get some reading and studying done, this is a fantastic getaway to do it at. If you want to get away from reading and studying, this is a fantastic place to do that ^^

James Wang: Cloudy or clear, this is one of the few places that offer up amazing views of the Industrial District of Seattle.

Josh Holland: Situated on the edge of Beacon Hill, Dr. Jose Rizal Park provides a unique vantage point that highlights Seattle's financial district. The dog park is also very large and has diverse terrain.

James Wang: Surrounded by lush and diverse vegetation, this miniature Japanese garden invites you in for a quiet stroll along its winding brick paths around 2 dry ponds and through an arched stone bridge.

James Wang: A large Natural Area Park, which is currently in the process of restoration from unattended greenbelt to a more natural landscape with access trails and community spaces.

James Wang: More “lush” than most triangle parks in Seattle, there’s not much to do here other than admire the pretty plant life as you wait to cross the street.

W. Dunlap: Sit on the park bench and enjoy a book from the library next door.

James Wang: "Equality", the sculpture in this park, comprises of 35 small granite houses on a grid set against a larger bronze house on a hill of grass: a relaxing spot to take in some views of Seattle’s skyline.

James Wang: Constructed in 1998, the pavilion in this park was built to further strengthen the relationship between the sister cities of Seattle of the U.S.A. and Daejeon of the Republic of Korea.

Cheapism: An impressive sculpture garden featuring art from the SAM’s collection. Stroll through in late afternoon, then stay to enjoy the sunset. Open 365 days a year and always free. Leggi tutto.

James Wang: Signs are all over about the dangers resulting in feeding the ducks. But if you feel rebellious, you can buy a loaf of bread for 99-cents at the Grocery Outlet nearby.

James Wang: This “park” is nothing more than a sidewalk with foliage on both sides.

Brendan P.: Beautiful but small urban forest. Quiet hiking trail surrounded by tall trees.

James Wang: Directly south of the stunning Oak Manor townhouse lies this small triangle of grass, dominated by a grand Garry Oak and protected by a little fence all around it.

James Wang: Bring breakfast, a blanket, and someone to cuddle with and sit at the bench overlooking Lake Washington for one of the best viewpoints to watch a sunrise in the city.

James Wang: Established around 1895 in what is now the north end of the Capital Hill neighborhood, this little known cemetery memorializes veterans of the Civil War.

James Wang: The four limestone columns overlooking I-5 once stood as the entrance to the original Plymouth Congregational Church, which was demolished in 1966. They were donated and dedicated to the park in 1967.

James Wang: The 7 boulders in the west corner of the park represents the 7 hills of Seattle, which some historians claim the city was built on and around. It is not recommended to try and jump across each one.

ドーラ: This park is home to one of Seattle's best views, a historic water tower, a conservatory built in 1912, and Seattle Asian Art Museum.

Carlos Chavez: Great place to hang out while you wait for the bus

James Wang: Slightly hidden in the Central District of Seattle, kids (and the kid at heart) can play up their firefighting dreams at this firehouse-themed playground, complete with its own fire truck structure.

James Wang: Known for its beautiful views of Elliott Bay and the Olympic Mountains, Victor Steinbrueck Park is also a popular spot for many visitors to see a variety of interesting and talented buskers.

James Wang: A Brutalist fountain is one of the many highlights one can find in this cool urban maze that floats like a fortress of nature and concrete above Interstate 5.

James Wang: The orange half-pipe sculpture in this park, entitled "Water Mover", was built as a form of guard rail to prevent visitors from toppling off the concrete edge and into the sage.

James Wang: If the viewing platform is too crowded, you can get a little adventurous and walk farther north along the edge of the concrete wall for more views. Just be very careful not to fall into the canal.

Jeff Morrison: Have lunch while sitting on the rock bench overlooking Ballard. Enjoy the tranquility.

James Wang: There’s a little hidden beach in the northwest corner of this park, just west of the train trestle. Look for a rope near the structure to help guide you down and enjoy a beautiful sunset.

James Wang: Belvoir Place is a beautiful, small waterfront park that gives wonderful views over Union Bay. Be careful as you walkabout, tho, as the park and adjacent private lawns have no distinguishing borders.

James Wang: On a sunny day, when you’re tired from all the activities you can do at this park, go ahead and lay out on the grass and enjoy the views of University District and Lake Washington.

James Wang: A massive oak tree is the center piece of this traffic circle park, towering over the streets in this beautiful neighborhood of Seattle.

James Wang: A chill and relaxing urban park by day, a wonderful rainbow neon light show at night.

James Wang: A triangle of grass with a few tall trees. Yup, that’s it.

James Wang: A triangle of grass with a bus stop and some boulders for which to rest on as you make your way northeast towards the much more interesting and pleasant Madison Park.

James Wang: A mother bear and cub carved out of granite is just one of the nice works you'll find here sculpted by the late Richard Beyer, known for his "People Waiting for the Interurban" sculpture in Fremont.

James Wang: Though it lacks the shoreline access its sister park to the south has, this park is a much less crowded alternative that still offers relaxing grass and fantastic views of Lake Washington.
