Your About Face Skin Care treatment provider will discuss with you the number of treatments based upon the area (s) you wish to have treated and your desired results. Typically a patient will receive 2-3 treatments. Each treatment should be 4-8 weeks apart.

Your About Face treatment provider will identify with you the specific areas of the body to be treated. After a brief pre-treatment preparation, they will apply the truSculpt handpiece to your skin which will deliver a pulse of RF energy. Each pulse will last on average 4 minutes; upon completion, the handpiece will move to an adjacent area to begin pulse. The entire treatment will last for 1 hour or less.

A beam of light passes through the patient’s skin and is attracted to dark hair follicles. The laser energy is absorbed by the hair follicle, destroying all treated follicles that are in the active growth phase. Those follicles that are treated will never grow again. (Hair follicles that are not in the active growth phase will not be affected by the laser treatment, and in order to eventually treat all hairs, it is recommended to get a treatment every 6-weeks in order to follow the hair-growth schedule.)

Before a treatment, it is important to closely shave the area you'd like treated. This way, all of the laser energy is directed towards the hair beneath the skin. Do NOT pluck or wax the treatment area beforehand-- the hair follicle cannot be permanently destroyed if it is not present. Some people also like to take Aleve (or any other over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medication) 30-minutes prior treatment to prevent any discomfort.

Laser Hair Removal is an ongoing process that requires multiple sessions in order to destroy all hair follicles during all their varying growth phases. In order to treat all hairs, laser hair removal treatments are preferably scheduled 6-weeks apart.
